On November 3, 2017, the State Council approved the establishment of the "Chinese Doctors' Day". It (officially approved) that starting from 2018, August 19 of each year would be designated as "Chinese Doctors' Day", specifying that the specific work would be organized and implemented by the relevant departments of the National Health Commission.
Relevant person in charge of the National Health and Family Planning Commission stated that they would work with relevant departments to organize various activities for "Chinese Doctors' Day", encouraging the majority of health workers to vigorously carry forward the noble spirit of "respecting life, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, being willing to dedicate, and having boundless love". This aims to further promote the formation of a good social atmosphere of respecting doctors and valuing health, and accelerate the in-depth implementation of the Healthy China strategy.
