Moving from the low-end to the high-end is a challenge for the medical device industry
When talking about how to promote the development of the medical device industry and how to promote the localization of medical devices, Li Xiting said that China's medical device industry started late, and only began to enter the stage of medical device R&D and production after the reform and opening up, but in just a few dozens. During the year, China's medical device industry has made tremendous progress. "But we must also see that in the Chinese market, the real high-end medical equipment is still occupied by some large foreign companies." Li Xiting said.
Li Xiting believes that the challenge for Chinese medical device companies is how to move from the low-end to the high-end. How to let the Chinese market be mastered by the Chinese themselves is a big challenge for medical device companies. "Since the country has such great strength to support, as a company must seize this opportunity, from the low-end to the high-end. Mindray has a very large investment in this area, the product not only enters the high-end market in China, but also enters the international high-end market. For example, Mindray’s monitors account for 50% of the Chinese market and rank first in the Chinese market,” Li Xiting said. He also said that the only way to do this is to take the step by step and master the product technology and do a good job in order to occupy the high-end market.
Innovation ability, core technology and talent are very important
When talking about innovation and the topic of core technology, Li Xiting said that, first of all, to increase the mastery of core technology, it is necessary to invest in research and development. “Mairay’s annual investment in research and development is guaranteed to be 10% of the sales in the current year, and the efficiency of the use of funds must be guaranteed. This series of platforms must keep up; It also includes an experimental platform to test whether the product can run efficiently in various environments such as high temperature, low temperature, high humidity and high salinity, because the user may be distributed anywhere in the world without going through a very strict system process. Control, products are difficult to adapt to the needs of the global market.

According to him, Mindray not only donated many Hope Primary Schools, but also donated medical equipment at the fastest speed in some major disasters such as Sichuan and Qinghai Yushu earthquakes. Not only in China, Mindray also went abroad, helped out during the tsunami in Indonesia, and provided medical equipment assistance, doctor training to Pakistan, Vietnam and other countries, and volunteering in poverty-stricken areas.
In the field of first-aid first-aid, the professional touch of deep cultivation in the field of health for nearly 30 years, Li Xiting sharply captured the importance of popularizing AED in public places. He said: "In China, the success rate of cardiac arrest patients is less than 1%. In other words, once a patient has a sudden cardiac arrest at home or in a public place, it is very fortunate to be able to save money. The AED is a bargaining chip to increase this trust."
In recent years, Mindray Medical has donated more than 1,000 AEDs (automated external defibrillators) to the Red Cross, schools, scenic spots, airports, railway stations and other units, with a value of about 40 million yuan. Through active participation in first-aid training and Red Cross activities, we spare no effort to provide first-aid publicity and training for the whole people, popularize first-aid awareness, and improve first-aid skills. In 2018 alone, more than 20,000 people were trained. In 2018, through AED equipment, it successfully saved more than 10 lives in public places such as Hangzhou East Railway Station, Shanghai University of Technology, and Shenzhen Metro. "We have done some work in the middle of public welfare activities, but it is not enough.
